I've recently acquired one as a part of the kit I got with my Sealine. Having now started to get the boat itself into some order, I've turned attention to the tender. The outboard is a Johnston J2RTSSR (6hp I believe) and manufactured in June 2000. I managed to get it running without difficulty but would like 2 things:-

1. A manual
2. To know the ratio of 2 stroke oil to unleaded petrol that I should use.

Any suggestions appreciated.

well, a J2R should be 2hp according to johnson website may help identify it.

<A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.outboards-direct.co.uk/awp-pro/activelst.asp?rip=3>outboards direct</A> in Brighton list johnsons, maybe they'll do you a manual?

Yes I think you're right as I had a J6R until last year and that was a super smooth twin cylinder 6hp. job. My J4R was a 4hp as well. Don't think they do a 2hp anymore - the range starts with a 2.5 & 3.3/3.5 both of which are Tohatsu based I think.

Yep, you're right, it is a 2 HP. It has 1.5kW on its plate which converts to 2.01 HP. The broker claimed 6HP but of course disclaimed everything so that's that.

Thanks for the input. I'll check out the links for a manual.
