Jings its freezing

Well, the temperature did drop to -2 hlast night here on the bonnie Black Isle, but its currently +5 and rising. I'm looking for a picture of snow to remind me what it looks like.

Looks like England is getting the cold weather this year - not that I begrudge them their turn.

Aye, I was in Inverness last year, spent alot of time on the Black Isle. Lots of snow and temps in the Marina at Inverness dropped to -14.
Say hello to Buller in Cromarty for me, and Donna in the bakery.

I forgot my phone or you would have some, I had seagulls walking round the boat this morning when I nipped out to do some work.

The tender even started riding up on the ice at one point. Was starting to think of Shacklton's famous voyage

.
No frost here in Argyll this morning, no snow either - but apparently they have had snow in Algeria.

Weird. maybe Simon can tell us why the weather is upside down.

Here's SWMBO at our club harbour this afternoon. No ice to be seen, as it's covered in a thick layer of snow! Luckily the boat's out of the water.

I kept a boat at Bellanoch in the Crinan Canal some years ago, in that winter I could walk round her on the ice.
The slight movements of the boat kept a tiny gap ice free all round the hull. I didn't like the clonking side she made as she constantly bumped against it- and it rubbed a line of antifouling off all the way round the water line.
A couple of other boats there had to get the fire brigade out to stop them sinking as the seacocks had been left open. As the water froze it burst the hoses off. Once the thaw came.....
