Steady on chaps he has not caused the whole website to disappear, there are two sides to every story so lets leave it there as "Timothy" has explained his side.

Are forums a place for discussion, or where frightened people come and sympathise with each other? There's already so little information of any practical use due to moderation by little frightened people, it's hardly worth being here.

Has nobody got the balls to judge things realistically any more?

Timmy, by his own admission, reported Jim's site several times, because he's a pathetic human being who really thinks somebody will get one up on him for knowing what his boat is!?!?!?

God ONLY knows how his tiny mind works...

Now Richard thinks it's all a bit too scary....

I really want to hurl some serious abuse at this floppy nothingness mess, but somebody will get scared....

Steady on, calling me thick is a one way ticket out of here...I am not scared of this thread I am scared of the witch hunt it has turned into from what is normally a nice civilised forum.

It still is nice and civilised if you could see what he is being called in other places, its almost enough to make me blush.
There is also because of his action the very real chance that a new database will emerge which will have his details on it and he wont be able to touch it....
So totally self defeating

It's not a Witch hunt, it's a clear admission from some guy who caused the demise of a perfectly good and useful website for no good reason.

Are you really not bothered by this, while you're sitting on the fence there?

p.s. Ban me if you really feel so upset Richard, then you can ban all the other contributors, and be here all alone to listen to the sound of your hard-drive, but have no worries.... Fact is, you know Timmy is bad for doing this.

Oh, and before you get all pompous and arrogant again, this information isn't PRIVATE, as your boat will no doubt be afloat somewhere, clearly visible, along with it's hull length and current EA licence. We may have had to guess at your miserable little engines output, but hey-ho...

I am not sitting on any fence? I am seeing it for what it is, that is moderation...

Unless you know both sides of this story and can report on it with absolute clarity then I suggest you stop making threats and continue to use this forum in the way you usually do and that is contribute to what is a civilised little sub section of this site.

For the record "Timmy" has done nothing wrong on this site as far as I can make out based on what I have seen in public and in private.

Richy (for that is a term of endearment lol) Tim has already confessed to reporting Jim's website several times for no sensible reason, which appears to be the sole reason it closed.

Did you miss that bit?

For the record, this wasn't a money making site, I'm sure he had better things to do than pander to the whims of somebody with issues...before you know it, the rest of his mates are all popping up like Spartacus...and he's in for loads more work for nothing.

The trouble is, decent people are being kicked out of this whole boaty thing by the sheer arrogance of others. Look at last years ATYC spectacle. It's still ongoing, with mad mick apparently ranting at some meetings....

You really see nothing wrong here?? Richard?
 
Well prior to this little altercation would have gone past by Mr Mountains boat and never even considered which boat it was or where it was usually moored or even the fact that the aforesaid gentleman was member of any of the RUG groups.
Now however am fully aware and will of course be avidly keeping and eye out merely to wave merrily next time we are visiting olde Farter Thames

Jim Shead is a contributor and inland waterways writer and photographer which he advertises on his site therefore it has a commercial element. The list may be a hobby but the site is not.

Thats all from me, all I ask is that you do not accuse someone of something without knowing the full facts.

We have lost a very useful source of free and pertinent information with regard to finding out basic information about a wide variety of boats, for historical purposes, such as tracing whether boats are still afloat or not if nothing else.

Cars have a similar information source, type in a reg number, and it gives you basic information. What harm could possibly come from that!?

I would have thought you, being in the 'information' business would have approved.

So, what facts do you have that make this right?
