OCEAN DREAMWALKER III Yacht - 47m (155ft) Sanlorenzo 2018

On the market now for only €24,800,000

Turn down the sound level of your PC, then click:

Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (C32 Acert) 1,318hp engines, motor yacht Ocean Dreamwalker III is capable of reaching a top speed of 16 knots, and comfortably cruises at 13 knots. With her 60,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 4,000 nautical miles at an economic speed of 11 knots.

That's only 15 liters per nm @ 11 knots. 165 liters /h. Not too bad, considering all. Alaska and back however is quite a trip..

While I’m sure JFM would admire this boat, he would have little interest in it as an ownership proposition. His 96A is as big as he wants, as he does not need a pro skipper, he Captains Match himself. And does so extremely competently.

My initial post was very tongue in cheek given that the boat is in St Helier for a visit.

I got that :D .. A somewhat defensive reply by Rafiki...

That said, and I don't think this is veiled jealousy, it's a bit of an ugly thing! (The boat, not JFM :D). That huge chunk taken up by the helipad makes the boat look inspired by a highly polished freight ferry.

That is the ‘look’ for expedition yachts.....based on commercial boats that you find in the North Sea etc

Maybe so.. Not doubting it's ability but aesthetically its not a boat I would love to look at.
I really like boats like this - they look purposeful (even if in truth they aren't). There are an awful lot of the yachts in multi-tiered black/white layers, in a vaguely sporty shape.

I'm sure the designer isn't too concerned that I don't like it. :D I struggle with the 'heavy front, slight rear' look. That said I think it looks a lot better than the Princess X80 and X95, which look like giant Tefal Irons.
