Hi Everyone, I'm a new member to the forum who's been reading bits on here for some time and wanted to ask for some help please if anyone can?

I'm trying to track down anyone who owns / has owned and/or knows the whereabouts of any Swift 15 speedboats manufactured by Jetmarine (based in Stockport). Jetmarine is my Uncle's firm, and they manufactured the boats between 1980 and 1995 (ish) and were the last run and model of boat they made before sadly leaving the market and diversifying their products to be able to keep the business going.

The reason for trying to find them is he turns 87 this year and I'm hopeful we can track as many down as possible and get them all together for him for a day.

The boats are 15 foot in length with a 6 foot beam, and over the period of manufacture were powered by either Essex V6 engines, BMW B190 6 Cylinder engines or Volvo Penta engines. All were fitted with a PP65 jet following extensive development work with PP Jets to get the best performance possible. In total approximately 15 - 17 of the Swift 15 boats were manufactured, with one of these being owned and used aboard the Royal Yacht Britannia. At present we know the location and owners of three of the boats, and that a BMW powered Swift is still in working order with a video having been posted on YouTube but it would be great if we could manage to find out how many are still in use and if we could bring them together as a surprise for him.

I appreciate it's probably a long shot find them all, but thanks in advance for taking a look at the post, and once again, a great forum to be part of.

Trying to get some pictures of what the boat looks like in case there's any still knocking around with no make/mark etc. but having trouble uploading them (think it's due to not having privileges yet), in the meantime the video link below is a video of a BMW engined Swift being used...

Hopeful we'll manage to find out what happened to them and get them together :encouragement:

Hi John
Thanks for the reply!! That's great to hear the Britannia Swift is still around!! So far I'm up to five including your good self and a potential lead in Liverpool that I'm following up at the moment. Would be great to see the boat as you restore it. We are still in business at Jetmarine and have all the original drawings etc if you need any information as you restore.
Thanks again and look forward to seeing pictures as you go.

I know this is a few years old no but just wondering?
I have had one for a few years standing in my shed on a fourwheeled trailer and have decided to get it working as a hobby, It is missing the ignition key starter. at the bottom right hand edge of the panel, I have all ll the original keys but i want to get the engine going first in case something else is wrong.… if you can send me a contact for chasing spare parts it would be great…
Thanking you in advance..
Cheers.

Hi Noel,
This a couple of years too late maybe, but if I remember right, the ignitions were provided by Briggs & Stratton. When you say the ignition starter is missing, do you mean the barrel for the key itself, or the start push button that they were fitted with?
Hope the restoration went/is going well!
Currently have one undergoing a rebuild myself.
