The displacement, ballast ratio, beam, length and draft figures for your boat are by no means extreme. They compare with similar good performance 44 ft cruiser racers. Yours is a good sailboat by any measure. There are many Jeanneaus/Beneteaus that are excellent.

Some of the smaller and more cruisy Beneteaus have dimensions, displacement and other figures that can worry some people about their suitability for serious offshore passages. Though when sailed by good sailors, even these boats can still perform well.

Bavarias are similarly much maligned but again can be excellent. I know someone with a Bav 38 which was a bit of a dog - but that was only because its standard sails were useless (Bavs are incredibly well priced and they must cut corners in the standard sails). With a new set of sails it was transformed to a much better boat.

With Respect .Andrew.I am realy only interested with the older Jenn S/ Magic
As said she weighs in at 10.500kg 2.2 x1.6x.450 keel .hull length 13.33 mts.The finish in the saloon and throught the boat very good .Winches very powerfull it mayby that later models, have been built to a low price ,but remember this boat was aprox £118,000 12years ago!I also owned a Sun Charm 39 1900 again a very nice boat did not sail like the magic but still very stable .Anyway thanks for your comments.
