Seriously thinking of buying one. Unfortunately Myra at reprints has nothing on file. Anyone out there got any kind words (or otherwise) to say about them?
Don't know a huge amount about them, but used to race against one for a couple of seasons out of Chichester Harbour.
Quite a sporty boat... a big rig with running backstays. My parents looked at one second-hand before they bought their current boat, and they were of the opinion that the accomodation was pretty good, but with a slightly odd layout.
The rig with runners tends to bring the secondhand price down a bit as it makes them less suitable as a fast shorthanded cruiser. Apparently some have been remasted...
I did the South China Sea Race(H.Kong to Manila) on one back in 93, 1300nm in total.
The boat was very fast with sprints of up to 13 knts and was very easy to handle.
Despite a ridiculously low ballast ratio we never felt unsafe even in strong winds.Running backstays are a nuisance though .
The interior arrangement is very sensible and works very well with a proper chart table and heads compartment.
At speed the keel would vibrate wich was a bit disconcerting at first but we soon got used to it .
Our boat had a yanmar 18 hp and the handling under power was good.
You might want to check the webs for the chainplates. Our boat had cracks in one.
There were deck leaks everywhere, from winches and things as well as from the windows.
I would probably buy one today(cheap). All in all it's a great boat as long as you don't pay too much for it.

Thanks for the insight. Yes the layout is strange but it does afford some
privacy to the rear berths. What did your parents choose in the end?

They were very fast sports boats, lightly built, which will have been raced hard and suffered accordingly. If you want a knock-about performance cruiser/racer for club racing she will be fine but I would not recommend her for family cruising. Read the survey report carefully because there is likely to be lot of rig strain and possibly evidence of hull distortion due to overloading the rig.
