Hello,

Searching for som real world owner feedback on the NC9. It's a serious contender as our next boat, but would like some feedback. Have a searched a little on the forums.

Thanks

I'm not an expert but with my comment bumping you back up the forum hopefully one will be along. I have however been out a few times on a NC9 and found the boat very good. Observations are, ride is good albeit a bit of fiddle with the trim tabs is needed to fine tune the ride. Engine punchy and even in rough it pushed through the rough. Engine noice was just ok but I'm used to an outboard so the wheelhouse / diesel combo will always be more obtrusive to me. The sliding door to port next to the helm is a real plus point and makes driving a joy and docking a breeze.
I liked the layout, traditional for the Jeanneau range of small/medium boats and the ability for forward facing bench with a simple manovering of the bench is good for your guests to be forward facing.
Hope that helps but I don't have real owner insight which is invaluable so hope someone else can help more.

The NC9 was a contender when we were looking for a new boat 3 years ago.
We did a trial, and I found the boat handled well, but was a bit more compact/crowded than our final choice.
The helm door is particularly useful, but I banged my head each time I went through it, so that mitigated against the NC9.
Our final choice was the Nimbus 335 Coupé, and we have been very pleased with her.

Thank you both, valid points raised. We should be nipping down to view a new one in the next week or two. They do look nice, the concern is the budget stretch and the engine noise - we've had outboards before and you cant hear much, and the latest boat is quite noisy internally - so we want to avoid that.

Thanks

I went on one a few times with Robin from Cambrian Boats. Loved it but, as there are 5 of us in the family, we opted for a MF10. I've just looked on their site they have one in their new yard. http://www.cambrianboats.com/used-boats/jeanneau/nc9/1071/

Engine noise isn't a problem (our MF10 has a single engine also). We used to have a MF755 with a 150 on the back which was noisier at speed than the MF10.
