The plunger in my Jabsco loo is held in place by a large plastic bush, which can be undone with a 22mm spanner (in theory). Anyone with one of these loos will be familiar with it. Howver the plastic bush has siezed, and the spanner is starting to round over the soft plastic. I know that you can get to the plunger by taking off the whole valve assembly which the bush fits into, but thats tricky to get back on. Does anyone have any tips to get the plunger out?

It shouldn't be "tricky" to get back on as the gasket has keyways so you shouldn't get it wrong. Nevertheless make sure you take notes/draw pictures. The instructions say to open (valve to the sucking water in position) when you take off (and put back) the valve cover.

Doesn't sound like you've got the service kit. If it's not been serviced in 2 /3 years and has had reasonable use then I would get the kit before I start. It has a new top nut in the pack.

Good luck
Steve

When taking difficult bits apart I now photo them with my cheap digital camera & keep a printed out record.Even the screen view on the camera is useful when it is magnified.

Although I've been reading the forum for a long time, this is my first post, so hear goes!!

I recently had a similar problem, and I contacted Jabsco directly on 01992 450145 (Herts), spoke to their technical dept. Can't remember the guy's name, but very helpful and sent me an installation & safety sheet, together with installation and instruction booklet by return of post.

Hope this helps you.
