Jabsco toilet not pumping in

Hi Vic,
this is where I got my info from, and it makes sense to me. The lady in question is regarded as quite an expert on marine sanitation systems.

She is talking about the pumping out of the effluent not the pumping in of the fresh water. The flap valve she refers to is the one at the bottom that all the effluent comes through on its way from the bowl to the pump chamber.

water not pumping in

have had exactly the same prob - soent ages going thro the pump / valves etc. In the end found it was nothing to do with the Jabsco pump.

Check your inlet pipe - Mine had a small brass strainer which had become blocked.. cleaned out .. worked perfect!

Gimballed or stable fitting?

Mike.

Actually now removing the defunct "Ball Head" and will probably use my old Elsan mini toilet from our early (pre Porta Potti) camping days. It'll fit the space vacated nicely, can be fastened down, can still be moved into the cockpit when appropriate and has a comfy seat... builders' buckets don't!

Gimballing sounds like a good idea ( for any saily boat toilet) but a step too far perhaps

It works!

I tried to log on yesterday while on board but the site seemed to be down. I fiddled about with the pump and it is now working adequately (having not been used for a month). Oddly it is now pumping in better than it is pumping out so anyone who gave advice having misread my originally post has probably provided me with useful information for next time!

Happy New Year to you all and I hope you all have a heads-problem-free season ahead!
