Jabsco Head Pump Stiff

Tom Cunliffe in YM advised occasionally filling your Jabsco bowl with warm fresh water and leaving it overnight to cure the stiff squeaky pump problem, I have used this method for several years, it works a treat and I have not had to dismantle or grease the loo since doing this.

I think you've missed the point that was being made. Given the cost of labour plus parts versus the cost of a new pump or new head plus lots less time, it works out cheaper for the customer to have a new pump or new head than to atempt repair. Not lazy, simply cost effective.

Yes, I went through the exactly the same thought process today. I've spent £30 on spares with little improvement. Mind you the loo is pre-1987. £100 for a new one in F4 seemed a good idea. Trouble is, no more room in my hold luggage, though I do have a spare electric loo in a locker...but trying to keep it simple now prevents me fitting it.

You don't say where your boat is kept but shipping by the supplier is surprisingly economical. Piplers will send a new passerelle, over a metre in length, weight 13 kg, to Leros island, Greece for £35. That's half what it would cost me to take it as hold luggage, without the hassle. My new dinghy, too heavy to fly in the hold, was delivered for £50.
