So something went down the loo that shouldn't have and crunched the macerator blade. The motor stopped working almost immediately but the breaker didn't trip. Anyway I'm assuming it's a new pump job. Great except I've to get the old one off and I can't. I've removed the 4 screws and the motor comes out a couple of cm's but then something is stopping it. Should it come straight out? Is there any trick to it? Any and all advice appreciate before I remove the toilet bowl. 20250613_170153.jpg20250613_165829.jpg

I can't help with the removal but imagine the broken pieces or the remains of whatever it was that was put down the toilet may be restricting the pump removal.

My boat had the electric pump conversion which was an awful thing. The manual pump I replaced it with is an upgrade.
I think some other manufacturers make half decent electric toilets .

I got the pump out today. The metal macerator blade and housing were undamaged but the plastic impeller blade which expels the liquefied waste is badly damaged. I tested the motor by connecting to a battery and I hear a slight momentary buzz and then nada. I've ordered a new complete pump unit and I'll send the motor to a local electric repairer to see what they say. I suppose finding a replacement plastic impeller blade is out of the question.
