Might state that emails are really good because a Trader can answer them in his own time after the Yard has closed for the night. So in effect expanding their trading hours to suit the client, with little cost the the Yard.

Well maybe, if any Trader thinks that they will not work outside of the Business Normal hours then so be it, their great loss. But to any normal Trader who just might regard his Company as his /her chosen way of life style, then its a gain, indeed.

Might state that maybe any Trader working in the Boating Business thinks that working 9 - 5 & M - F is good business, then just perhaps the sooner they get a job in another field the better they will be so will their customers.

In the most polite ECF way can I suggest that is a bit harsh?

You've seriously got the life work balance wrong if you're spending every evening emailing back and forth to clients, either potential or current. If you can't make enough money doing an honest 50 hours Mon - Friday running a business something else is wrong, spending all night answering endless emails isn't going to change that.

Anyone that texts or calls me after 9pm about something that isn't a serious emergency only does it once, that's for sure!

You are dead right. Many are the clients who expect people to work long or extra hours as do many bosses of their staff. But what they fail to realise it is someone's life time that is being wasted & you don't get another to replace the lost time.
50 years of business taught me that the hard way & eventually I realised that to work long hours was actually poor management & did not make business sense. So suddenly I started to shut the door & go home -& you know what- People learned to wait & it made no difference. In fact it was better as I was less stressed & more focused when I was at work.

Totally agree, it has only taken me 25 years to work this out so will consider myself lucky!
