Did the handover and sea trial yesterday and now am the very happy owner of a Monterey 214FSC with a Volvo 4.3 lump.

And the sun's shining

And the sea is calm

Watch out the Solent

And I can't wipe the :D off my face.

If you came past me at that speed I would do it for you.

Ah but I only do that sort of speed up rivers. I go MUCH faster at sea :p

Actually Southampton water was great yesterday. The only other boat moving was an ugly great car transporter brick on a keel. And I don't think he would be bothered by my wake. And the red jet of course.

I tiptoe past raggie types with my slippers on to avoid causing offence. ;)

Congratulations on new toy. I like the stepped hull. Loved the wake shot; it looked well above 40kts! Hope you have a great 1st season with it

Cheers, yes it was just under 50mph on the speedo, 42knots on thew gps so somewhere in between is probably true :)

Don't want to think about fuel consumption at that speed though

I bet you'll be pleasantly surprised, that V6 has a reputation for not drinking a lot.
Congrats, nice boat indeed, and quite performing too!

PS: what is the round spot on stbd side of the bow, next to the anchor locker?

why did sandyman have to post this quote?
you would be making more wash if you were going slower?and surely your on wide tidal water's their?
if you want flat clam go on a canal!
nice boat though!

No reason to worry for jokerboat anyway.
If he came past at that speed, all Sandyman could do is wave him good bye... :D

...now where's my coat when I need it?

Very pretty boat, nice canopy and love the wake shot zoom zoom zoom

BTW Sandyman, water moves, if you don't like it buy a caravan!

That comment might just mark your card.

Totally agree!

When I first read his reply, I assumed they must know each other, so didn't comment on it. The more you read it, the more it seems like some juvenile threat.

If it is, why he felt the need to post it in the first place is beyond me. It appeared that Southampton Water was fairly empty considering it was a nice day - and as no speed limits were being broken, I really can't work out the reason for the hostility & tone of the comment.

Boat looks fantastic! I've spent some time on one of those and thought it was a great boat able to punch well above it's weight in the Solent slop! As for the comment made early on, it amazes me people post stuff like that. At the end of the day few of us know each other personally and I would have thought it misguided to make comments like that. Maybe you are having a pop at a very laid back type of guy.... Most of the ex SBS chaps I've met are very laid back :) so I wouldn't try to wipe the smile off anyones face...you just never know ;)

Unfortunately, there are tw**s and anonymous internet warriors in all parts of society.

edit; ps forgot to mention, congratulations, nice looking boat, Hope you don't have to carry multitudes of Jerry cans to refuel, like I have done for the last 9 years!!

There is a smiley in the title box so perhaps the dry humour didn't come out so well on tut'internet...Maybe?

Ohhhh..That looks like a very fun boat....45 knts :eek::eek::eek:

Could do with something like that here to pop to the Islands for lunch :)

Congrats to you and I hope you have many years of fun with her!

It's spilt milk now, but you may want to recheck out post #2 - there is the OP's original quote (of sorts), and then Sandyman made his comment (in post #2), whereby he came across as a bit of a tw@t! (with I hasten to add, no smiley's)

Anyway, nice boat & nice pics.

Congrats on new boat, they are well spec'd and very well made, I used to sell them a few years ago and thought they stood out from many of the US makes.
Enjoy her and don't think about the fuel, I run a Magnum 350 and although it feels like I am single handedly keeping Statoil in business I console myself that over 6 months of winter my fuel costs have been zero so averaged out over the year it ain't so bad.
