made the most of the good w weeks of weather up in scotland

got most of the camping cover sorted out and repaired.
sorted all of the bad wiring and got everything electrical either working, or to a point of knowing whats up with it
this included;
wiper
blower
nav lights
cockpit lights
fresh water system
shower pump
horn
bilge pump
trim mechanism

as well as removed a lot of bad wiring in the process.

ended up replacing the fresh water pump
fixed all of the snaps on the cockpit carpet
installed new 12v sockets and led's

now for the non fixed/issue parts

shower pump, dead needs swapped as has a good solid power and nothing happens.

macerator, has power to the unit, trips fuses. its been suggested possibly stuck and to take apart? any ideas tips? its a jabsco unit sounds a grim task.

1 job that im a little stuck with currently... the trim tabs. the wiring has been hacked about massively but ive repaired most of it, and know whats needed to fix the remains.

but i have a chunk of a pipe missing. ive no idea of brand, wether i can swap the pipe? i assume i can.
anyone able to shed some light?

the overall item looks like this

wmjmarine_2271_44065395

its on a 1994 bayliner if that helps?

Looks like a Bennett ram. Plenty of stuff and support on Google. On many tab installs the switch controls the opposite side's tab, so bear this mind when testing.

Looks like an Instatrim boat leveller ram, certainly not a Bennett, the hose can be swapped.

Aquafax are the uk importer so should be able to supply parts.

just a tip on the macerator - they are usually pretty much empty and not a big deal to take apart, however they and the associated pipes are full of bacteria. When you work on it wear a face mask - if you accidentally breath in or swallow any tiny droplets you will be talking to the big white telephone for quite a while.

After a bit more digging abour using google images for reference i too found insta trim to be the closest item and also found a wiring diagram which seems to suit the setup too.

I'll get onto this aquafax lot and see about some fresh tube/hose

Noted - im thinking disposable gloves and a mask are a must. maybe even go n speak to my local bodyshop and get me a csi type paper suit just incase lol

would it be beneficial once undone to squeeze a load of bleach into the pipes?

Regarding the macerator, when they sit for long periods after use in salt water and are getting on in years, corrosion will cause seizure. The initial electrical load will of course blow the fuse, but in the newer versions, some have a slotted screw head at the back of the motor so you can manually turn it over prior to the first flush of the season.
They are usually not worth mucking around with, the price of the new macerator is nearly as much as a whole new toilet, just replace the entire unit. At least you will feel better with a new bog!
