Am I the only one..

..that actually looks forward to the changing of the seasons? Sure, we have short and cold days but we have longer evenings in the pub, look forward to eating the heartier food that would knock you flat during the summer, a time to renew and do other things like walking, fishing, etc.

And there is, of course, the opportunity to give my boatyard loads of my hard earned that would otherwise be denied me.

Well, if it's any consolation, my boat should be back in the water later this month following an extensive refit at West Mersea. Then it's trial on the East Coast, probably visiting chums at Orford, before a great sail round to the Beaulieu River and a wonderful winter of envigorating sailing!

God, how I hate the winter /forums/images/icons/smile.gif !

Chris's comments are worth a look too.
And if you're really depressed you could always take up hunting . . .

Oh yes - and concerning another thread which I've only just come accross - both of my halves can be trusted, thank you very much /forums/images/icons/shocked.gif !

I suffer from seasonal depression also.If I had the time and money I would take a winter sunshine holiday every year.

Serious studies have shown that the low light levels in winter can be a trigger for some (as well as boat refit lists/forums/images/icons/smile.gif) and it can be offset by getting out in what little sunshine we do get whenever you get the chance.Even 20 minutes outdoors at lunchtime can help.

In severe cases a form of light therapy has helped people possibly available on NHS.

I know from personal experience that it can sometimes be hard to have a positive outlook but try to dwell on what you have achieved rather than what you havent.

Actually Graham, I can understand why you're depressed .. its all the welsh gits that you're forced to cosort with .. turn anybody blue... now lets look at Stella's psitive points to cheer her up!

Jimi i new I could rely on you for something deep and meaningfull/forums/images/icons/smile.gif.

The last few years Ive stripped out the cruising junk and left the boat on the mooring through the winter with some old sails ready for a bit of winter daysailing.

consequently this year the boat needs tons of work to get it looking tidy .Double depression,Im not one who pretends to enjoy working on boats much prefer to be sailing.

What I cant fathom out is why Scotsmen are all very proud of their country but rarely seem to live in it???
