your reaction seems to suggest that you are against anyone who doesn't share your idea of what you think boating is all about.

I get that a lot too - Apparently I lack 'empathy' /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
As to the heart of this 'debate' - why is it always assumed the older boats are cramped, wet, smelly and lack storage? Why is it either/or?
Our early 80's GRP boat is as dry as a bone, got more storage space than you could ever need, and more than enough room to swing several cats.
Once the refit's done she'll have cost me 110K, have new electrics, electronics, deck, rigging, sails and engine.
110K new would have bought me... what exactly?

Webcraft, you need to loosen up a bit. It's not really such a big deal. If your happy - fine. I can't be bothered any more. Sorry old chap, but a trip to the Canaries ain't an ocean crossing. A lot better than I've done though so I doth my cap to you.

Shame really , this was quite an interesting thread a dozen or so posts ago but as usual someone who had nothing to say felt obliged to say it. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Re: It\'s really getting boring of reading articles that older are better
I don't have any arguement with anyone or anything. I don't really care that much about old vs new. I just made some observations and asked some questions about the logic of one view over another. Shame you can't see that. Heyho that's the tapestry of life.
