It's been a while...

With the eve of the Poole boat show upon us, my thoughts travelled back some 15 years when I joined this forum. When some members would have a bit of a gathering in Wareham and Poole to share a couple of beers and a curry and to chat about boats...

My thought was, wouldn't it be nice to meet up again?

Don't know how many of us are left or even in contact. But, if like me you would like to meet up over a beer or seven please indicate in the traditional way.

Hi guy!

Yes still got the Osborne, still got plans.

Currently finishing off a Picton, inside and out. Just in the process of starting a new business, have a look www.boatworkshop.co.uk
Was hoping that it would be ready for the boat show.. The picton, not the Osborne.. But waiting on the engine going back together, all rebuilt painted and pretty. Was hoping to use it as the demo boat for the workshop, but may have to flip another one quickly.

Looked at a trident last week, but guy wants a bit too much money for me to entertain a resto on something like that.
Nice to see some of the old faces, so to spreak, you both doing ok?

Yep, still putting them out. Actually I've left training and gone back to riding around in a fire engine, I can sometimes be found pointing at things and being bossy in and around Christchurch.

Did you check out the projects page (under more in the top navigation bar) on www.boatworkshop.co.uk ? There's a couple of pics of the Osborne, and some of my latest Picton 210.

Yes I did have a look. If it were me I'd take away that picture on the right of the really manky old boat, that's not been loved or used in years so little hope now.then I'd have loads more pics of actual projects in progress to give potential customers a real feel for what you can do. But then I'm no web expert, just what I'd want to see.

Yes, I agree, was looking for the before and after scenario. Unfortunately... There's no after yet.. Well no pics anyway.

Hopefully get the workshop soon, have a few boats lined up, but nothing meaty.

My mrs is a bit of a web type guru, she suggested a facebook type account to run alongside the web thing.... Sounds like I know what I'm talking about...not!
