Italy - France: Offshore First Aid Kit - What is your experience

Been checked once, first aid kit was suitable and a plus point for having a fire blanket near the stove, we had a 1kg fire extinguisher and was told by the water police that it should be a 2kg all paperwork was in order and the comment about my life jacket was that it was better than the ones issued to them in their combi van.
We got a verbal admonishment to replace the 1kg fire extinguisher with a 2kg one and that was that, they have not been back so far.

There is one guy in the club that is ex military and an official in the national boating organisation, he gets stopped and checked every other week :)

The boat we have now has a largish first aid kit plus 2kg fire extinguishers in the cabins and saloon as well as an automatic one in the engine room, however I don't have one within 1 meter of the upper helm, it is nearly 2m to the nearest. I will have to sort that.
