I’ve been trying to locate a solar light from Italy for the longest time, but to little success. I’ve come across a number of boats who had purchased them in Italy, Venice to be more specific, but alas a name could not be found on any of them. The unit is yellow (white light) and the bonus of the light is that it has an on/off switch (and I think it can also pulsate??). It’s not that big but can be seen from at least a NM away.
Is there anyone in Italy or even Venice who may know what I’m talking about and if so, would you know where or who I could contact to obtain one.
Failing this of course would be the BQ garden type, but I do rather fancy a bit of yellow on the stern.

Many thanks in advance
Julian

I am looking for something similar myself, but have never seen the product you mention.

Something which might be the one you describe is listed here (click on "avvia la ricerca" and then look for the first item at the top).

From the somewhat confusing description, it seems that the light is blinking at selectable rates, but although a switch is mentioned, it's not clear whether there are also a fixed-light and an "off" positions.

The site is only in Italian, I suspect they are not selling abroad, but the product is made by Lafayette, a (US-based?) manufacturer better known for CB radios and electronic gadgetry, which might be available also in the UK.

I may drop by their shop and have a closer look as soon as I happen to be in the area.

Put a search on google for solar navigation lights it showed loads of suppliers - normally USA and cheap as chips.

many thanks Gianfranco,
For some unknown reason, i thought the bottom part of the light was yellow, but i could be completely wrong and i don't think it would make sence either??. I'll now be back in Corfu in two weeks where i've just found out friends of ours have one (but still can't find a brand name!), so i'll have another look and see if it is the one in the photo.
many thanks and will let you know if the lights are the same.
