I'm plannung to visit the Isles of Scilly for the first time in mid July. I've just got the RCA Pitotage foundation Pilot, but it's dated 1999. Anything changed since then that I should know about?
Sounds like you need to be getting yourself a copy of Fishwicks excellent book. It covers the whole of the South coast of the West Country including the Scillies.
The Scillies have been moved a little closer to the mainland to shorten the sea distance and help tourism, rearranged in alphabetical order from west to east to make navigation generally easier, and Tresco has been renamed Treflore to make it sound less like a supermaket chain. You definitely need a new book.
You'll be lucky to find a copy unless its second hand, since Norm passed away it has been difficult to find where the stock is being kept and I have not had any copies for sale in our little shop for about three years now, having said that it is terribly out of date although the rocks are still there waiting for the unwary and they still yield to none. The gap is soon to be filled but alas it will not be as entertaining a read as Norm's.
