Is there a problem filling our water tanks now in Scotland?

Let me refresh your memory as to the original post:

(Italics mine)

As the numerous responses from local sailors show, water is available pretty much everywhere. The Scottish government have not - as suggested ' 'done something', and elfin safety has gone no madder up here than down South.

So is Salmond a dictator? The OP said "Government", not Salmond. Your paranoia leads you to assume that any criticism of government (whether deserved or not) is a personal attack on your hero!

Interestingly I use a motorhome and I have absolutely no problems filling my onboard tank at any campsite so the basic problem is easily overcome and cannot cost that much, some campsite owners make marinas look strangely generous.

If you say so.

Do you know anything at all about the availability of water on Scottish pontoons? If not, why are you contributing to this thread.

Stop digging! Suggest you read post#2 which summarises the situation, which others later expand with more detail, confirming that legislation is indeed having an impact on water supplies in marinas across the country, not just in the northern part of our kingdom. It also affects our friends who live in the Channel Islands which have adopted the same basic legislation. I do know about it because we had to deal with the same issue in our club marina.

ps - doubt Salmond is even aware of all this - he lives in a fairy tale world and water quality is probably not something he bothers with.

So keep your snide remarks to the Lounge - this forum is for boaty things.

All the off-topic remarks in this thread are yours. I have as suggested deleted all my references to anything other than the availability of water on Scottish pontoons.

Water is available on all Scottish pontoons as far as I know. The only possible exception is Kerrera (Oban), which has regular water supply issues in the past. However, I believe the problem is now solved.
