I've been told by the good folk who watch things on eBay that a 1970's 25' single engine boat won't make much money. When told about the reserve, it is "far more than" they'd consider bidding on it. They obviously think £2K will do it. Sea Symphony is an Albin 25 built in 1973 with a 7 year old Beta Marine single diesel.
It appears that the soothsayers of eBay are, however, wrong.
I put Sea Symphony on eBay and Boatsandoutboards on the Sunday before last and sold her on the Thursday. Money in the account the same day and a hand over trip on Saturday. Buyer very happy (I think!) and already talking of plans for long trips in the future (he is a commercial yachtmaster).
Got what I knew she was worth, and didn't give her away. Presented her in a clean tidy condition. Lots of photos taken without discarded clothes in the background. Made a couple of videos. Two weeks prepping her and half a day's work with the marketing in total. Okay, even I was surprised with the speed of the sale. Having two serious purchasers (each knowing that the other was serious) certainly helped, too.
Now just sorting out her replacement! Watch this space.
