Is there a market for a 1970's small GRP cruiser?

I've been told by the good folk who watch things on eBay that a 1970's 25' single engine boat won't make much money. When told about the reserve, it is "far more than" they'd consider bidding on it. They obviously think £2K will do it. Sea Symphony is an Albin 25 built in 1973 with a 7 year old Beta Marine single diesel.

It appears that the soothsayers of eBay are, however, wrong.

I put Sea Symphony on eBay and Boatsandoutboards on the Sunday before last and sold her on the Thursday. Money in the account the same day and a hand over trip on Saturday. Buyer very happy (I think!) and already talking of plans for long trips in the future (he is a commercial yachtmaster).

Got what I knew she was worth, and didn't give her away. Presented her in a clean tidy condition. Lots of photos taken without discarded clothes in the background. Made a couple of videos. Two weeks prepping her and half a day's work with the marketing in total. Okay, even I was surprised with the speed of the sale. Having two serious purchasers (each knowing that the other was serious) certainly helped, too.

Now just sorting out her replacement! Watch this space.

Suspect the diesel and the fact it was on shafts would have been the salient fact here.
Generic unstable impractical soap dishes powered by unreliable ancient petrol engines attached to godawful outdrives, would have been the only competition.
Just done bit of googling...did not realise it was Swedish.
A classic contrast between a well built proper little ship with actual side decks and the view that the boat will have a long life.
As opposed to the Fablon and cheap MDF world from the other side of the Atlantic with a view that side decks are for wimps and crawling across a flexing curvy cabin roof is character forming. :)
