Three cheers for L and D /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I expect that they'll start losing fenders soon like I do /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Now I'm back on broadband you can count on it /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Saturday morning tide, arrived at Sixpence fully prepared to depart but the lump refused to start. All day spent doing bits and pieces and trying to get it to fire after missing the tide window (3Hrs after high) before someone popped over and asked if we had tried giving it a blow job /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
No, not that sort /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
Apparently the insides had been affected by the damp over winter, once aired it was fine. Suggested option was to take a hot air blower to it, hence blow job /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
Sunday morning tide, back on board, engine fired, all final checks done. Water, electrics, fuel etc.
Nobody checked the milk so black coffee all day /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Departed Fosdyke at high tide plus one hour, cleared Tabs Head one hour later, out through Freeman Channel and plenty of room to play.
Depth never below 2.5M, speed up to 7kn, main and genny deployed about an hour later and we popped over to say hello to the anchored heavies. Wind holding us in to the Western Wash we popped over to Kings Lynne and Wisbech approaches before I noticed something on the chart called Teetotal /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
Turned away from that pretty fast /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Played around for most of the day before the wind finally vanished, so we just drifted about for a while, not another boat in sight, before starting the donkey again and heading for home
Arrived back on pontoon about HW-1 so a bit early, but safely back in and a few jobs lined up as a result.
Fenders will go in aft locker eventually but more important things needed doing first, like plotting my position all day so I didn't run aground /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
Total passage about 28NM, and any rain heading our way legged it as soon as it saw us /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Did almost the same run on Friday with Mac onboard, a bit more breeze than you got though, F4/F5 all day. Managed to dunk the pulpit mounted LED nav light a couple of times, but it's supposed to be waterproof!
Came back with a nice tan and covered in salt.....
Got to get the self-steering finished so I can bugger off for a few days.
Uploading as fast as possible but the BB keeps dropping out /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif
Anyway, you just want to see my flappy things looking a mess /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
More to come but here's a couple of short video shots, not as good quality though /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
May well look at next weekend George, but the tides would mean a departure in the dark and I'm not sure we're ready for that yet. More navigation practice needed first I think
Maybe the weekend after /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

'Follow the ferry' has served me well over the years.
I thoroughly recommend it /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
If it wasn't for Ferryways/Cobelfret or Trans Europa Ferries I'd never get anywhere.
God only knows how I'm going to find Boulogne again now that Speedferries has folded. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
