Is Shalfleet Quay accessible at LW?

I plan to make Newtown Creek at around LW this Saturday. I would be grateful if anyone can tell me whether there is enough water to land by dinghy at Shalfleet Quay at dead LW.

I have read that it is not accessible at LW Springs, whereas this saturday is not far off Neaps.

I don't mind getting my feet wet ( or a bit muddy) but daughter and friend are likely to mutiny which means no pints down at the New Inn.

Advice from old Newtown hands gratefully received.

Thanks

I think this was covered just a few days back and generally you should be OK a approx 2 hr each side low water.

Prob is that LW is 2116lt p,mouth minus approx 30mins dif for Newtown so it tends to get in the way of pub time unless you start early and stay till closing time.

Every time I end up thinking of making "Splatchers" a la those used in Secret Water.. Has any one tried these?? Maybe this has the makings of a new Extreme Sport or at least a way to pep up owners club meets. (Solent and E Coast only)

Nick.

Thanks. Thats what I thought - arrive early and leave at closing time! Unfortunately probably not right for my 12 year old. Oh well - another weekend when the tides have moved on.

We were there 2 weeks ago and reckon it dries +/- 2 LW. I had to drag the Avon about 15m over soft mud to get afloat.
