Hi All, would you say my Princess V42 is good value for money at £139k?

It is just I am considering selling her and want to be realistic about what she would fetch!
her spec is this:
2002 build,launched 2003. One owner (me ) from new.
Cockpit design.
KAD 300 engines, c900hrs on clocks, full volvo sh.
Genny, cream leather interior, full electronics, inverter, Tv digibox etc.
Lovingly cared for etc.

Thanks for your thoughts.
S
Ps; I know she is only worth what someone will pay for her!

That's all good then.

I think you have put it on for about the right ask in today's market - perhaps towards the top end of what I would expect but I can't see the condition so it may be warranted.

It's not a bargain price but neither is it way over the top. I'd expect it to sell for between £125k-£130k less the amount of any work that needs doing.

If you want a quick sale if advertise at £129k but dig your heals in at the point if negotiation.

I am always very cautious about answering these threads and I think its best if I dont comment on what I think the value is. All i can say if its of any use is that I sold a 2001 example with volvos in good condition with a white hull which passed its survey easily in May 2011 for £125,000 tax paid. prior to that I sold a 2003 example with volvos, white hull and cockpit layout in good condition for £136,000 in november 2008 and then sold it again for the owner in july 2009 for £130,000. these were UK tax paid boats.

According to the yachtworld soldboats database, the only V42's that have sold this year so far are as follows: 2000 model white hull, uk based with yammers for £85,000 tax paid, 2005 model blue hull with volvo D6s based in Greece for £102,783 tax not paid and a 2006 model blue hull with volvo D6 also in Greece for £107,065 ex tax.
Last year there was only one example sold which was a blue hulled boat in Greece again from 2005 with D6s that sold for £115,630 tax paid.

Please be aware that not all brokers will submit this information and the main dealers don't seem to take part in giving feedback for this model but hopefully this helps give some realistic feedback and i hope that this helps.

Wow...... Henry is going to love that kind of info!!

But this is what we need and I take my hat off to you Christian. Real world figures so the op can decide where to pitch his boat.

A great guy is Christian - he sold us our boat in early 2007 and we couldn't have wished for a more friendly and professional service :)

Good call Christian, I too have seen recently yachtworld results of sales on my model of boat, makes very interesting reading as to what the actuall sales prices are, some eyewateringly true , but some about where they should be. Your dates also show the level of used sales which is interesting, thanks for taking the time to post.

Here in the Med they are definitely selling for less than the UK, as Christian above notes. I would expect a clean Med based version for about £115-120k Tax paid. So asking £129,950 in the UK should be getting some Interest. The only issue in the UK is that the more recent V42's and V45 are HT so that may make the price drop a little as they are not as desirable possibly. V42 still one of my favourite boats....
