Vandals have caused about £200.00 of damage to my Avon dinghy, Insurance excess £130.00. I may just as well pay the £200.00 and be done with, Looks to me like another case of pay up and be done with,
Perps concerned were caught Vandalising 2 4X4's and admitted to another 6 cases of damage to vehicles that night in the Marina but plod couldn't be 100% certain that they done the boats and they would not readily admit to it, Guess they'll get a free holiday, and I'll have to work another day for sod all!!!!!

I took a sad walk down your pntoon over the weekend looking at the damage - just mindless slashing, made me very angry ......... did they get the video footage or not?

No Paul
They did not, the camera was pointing into the car park and stayed that way for at least another 30 hrs !!!
The office mentioned that it was going to cost about 10k to have the marina cameras linked up to the city camera partnership scheme, so they can be monitored 24/7, I guess then they will remain permanently aimed at the road just in case one of us hasn't got any rent on the windscreen!!!!

Hi Gonfishing
Where is your boat moored when the vandalism occurred.
Mine is at Shamrock Quay on the hard standing at the moment and I didnt get a chance to do my weekly visit this last weekend, but I do worry about it being stored there. You have to drive through some real crappy areas before you get to the marina. The sooner I can get the work done to the hull, I can get it over to my mooring i the IOW, then it'll be a lot safer
