I feel that there has been a subtle attempt at Lakesailoring me and would urge you not to congratulate anyone on the end-of-weather-broadcast sign-off suggestions. Then no-one will get upset, as it seems lots of Forumites are getting upset these days.

Do they need to finish with anything? I listened to the Radio 4 forecast at 1255 today. The forecaster said his piece in clear concise and well spoken English, then he shut up. No need for a verbal goody bag.
The effect was a bit spoiled by the newsreader following, who found it necessary to thank him, but never mind.

Ken and I have been lovers since we were both small boys. Nothing either says or writes about the other is ever taken seriously - well, thats not quite correct - I have enormous respect for him and am often devastated by his cutting yet often correct remarks. He thinks I'm a bit of a divvi.

There seem to be a few W/Indian sounding announcers on R4 & World Service recently.
Those BBC female forecasters seem ok & enjoyable watching regardless of the weather, but I'm a DOM.
