Visited the beer festival this lunchtime.
There is a Spitfire outside the entrance (flying type not drinking type) which was being put together as I arrived. They fired the engine up around 2pm which made a few people jump.
A few very decent ales and there are several food stands there. There is also ciders, perrys and Belgian beer.
The Beer Festival tents are on the Eastern side of the wet dock just north of the lock gates (ie opposite Ipswich Haven Marina and south of Neptune Marina).
I wonder how many people will mis-judge their exit and have an impromptu swim..........
We had a good look round on Saturday, enjoyed 'Winston Churchill' doing the 'we shall never surrender' speech, and the WWII arms demos (sten gun, awesome).
That Spit is GRP I'm afraid, and the 'Merlin' is a very loud sound system......lovely noise nonetheless!
Also enjoyed watching the skipper of 'Kitty' springing her off the quayside in a strong onshore wind. Not so worried about the topsides as we would be...
