iTouch and GPS

Although I did manage to get a gps signal to the iTouch 2nd Gen 8GB from the mac-mini, I really wanted also to be able to use the neat Asus eeepc 900 for the same outcome.
Making an ad-hoc network on XP was a bit of a struggle and I had to use Google a lot!
Search Terms: "what port is ad-hoc wirless using XP"
and "External port No. for this service"
Delving in there I became a bit more clued in.
Franson GPS gate program is the key and making it allocate an IP address and port was the key, having just previously got the ad-hoc wireless bit up and running.
Next I opened GPSiNavx on the itouch and under settings (scroll backwards to find ) I was able to enter the same IP and port sequence as in GPS Gate.
Bingo! I have a ship (triangle) on the iTouch screen.
So now I am free to go on deck with the ITouch whilst below and snug the Asus eeepc will deliver the signal.
So the setup is:
1. Lappy with XP(mine is home edition) wireless and bluetooth enabled.
2 Either a plugged in USB GPS or in my case a Nokia LD3W bluetooth GPS.
3.An iTouch 2nd Generation with INavx program and charts loaded.
4. A degree of determination!
