Last year I had a T mobile SIM for my Ipad that cost me £5 for six months and had a chunk of free data for the duration. Does anyone know of a similar deal for 6 months or a year? I don't want a contract as the usage is only for when on the boat.

Do you have an iPhone? I just tether my phone to my iPad. I never use my phone data allowance up anyway and I seems such a waste to buy more.

I bought one of those in April (but it was 10 quid, not 5) and it's still going! Do they expire, then?

It pays to have a different sim in the iPad to the phone say 3 in the pad and orange in the phone so that you get signals in most places, especially if using them off shore.

I've checked into this in some depth for our office iPads and the '3' deal is the best available if you dont want a tie- in. I get our sims from Amazon and cut them down to micro size.

I have one of those 3 cards...
When I started using it it was good..

Now it takes about five minutes to sumit this ..

I am presently borrowing First Officers WiFi service as the 3 is carp:(:(

How long have you had it? They should last three months or 3 gb, whichever comes first.

Oh about two weeks... I have plenty of data and tome left... but the connection speed is dropping by the hour! Seriously it takes about five minutes to reload the show forum page..... If I try to open a thread, I may as well sail to Turkey before it opens:confused::confused:

That's not down to the sim, it's down to either your connection or the number of people using the same transmitter at the same time. I use Three sims almost solely for personal internet use, both a pay monthly dongle, and a payg (three month, 3GB) sim, and have done for years, and they don't fade over time unless there is a connection or contention issue.
