Hi,

I am trying to decide between a swinging mooring at Bembridge or pontoon at Ryde for next year. The three in a boat bit does not exist, i liked the subject header though.

Any way factors to consider are. 17ft Bilge keeler with a 4HP OB. Bembridge I like, Ryde is not so nice.

Also as a newbie I don't expect next year to be more than leave mooring for an hour or two then return.

Thank you in advance.

Cheapest first ......

Take the cheapest option first.

Have a few runs to the other and see how you feel. Having been involved in this in some way ....... as well as having gone the agonising decision ...........

First boat - Alacrity 19 I had was in a small marina. Then I was offered a cheap swinging mooring closer to sea ...... had various swinging moorings and then 'drifted' back to a marina for the 'step-on / step-off' bit. But I have to admit that price is making me look again at swinging ....... but its hard to get away from the 'luxury' of electric and stepping on-baord with tool-box instead of that trip out in the dinghy !! Particularly when you find you've forgotten something or have to buy a bit !!!!

See you next year !!
