S'funny, but I've only just noticed this forum, have been too busy posting on other sites I suppose.
Anyway, I know it's out of season now but here's my list of favourite restaurants in the Ionian which I picked up whilst I worked out there. If anyone has any comments or alternatives I'd love to hear them!
Nidri, Levkas: Catamaran or Il Sappore (restaurants), Bubbles, Byblos, Athos Hotel Pool Bar or Adonis (bars). (Panorama does a good lunchtime salad, Ola Kala next to Byblos bar is good for kids 'cos the owner does circus tricks on the table while you eat.)
Sivota, Levkas: The Old House
Spartachori, Meganisi: Porto Spiglia, the one with the pontoon run by Babis and Panos. Or walk up the hill and go to Lakis.
Vathy, Meganisi: Kiki's Corner. Without a doubt the best restaurant on Meganisi.
Fiskardo, Keffalonia: Captain's Cabin on the waterfront, Herodotus if you want to walk a mile up the hill to avoid the flotilla crowds.
Sami, Keffalonia: All pretty much the same.
Frikes, Ithaki: Symposium (run by Miropi), or Penelope (Captain Steve's)
Kioni, Ithaki: Can't remember the name but it's in the left hand corner of the harbour as you look from seaward and does a cracking onion pie.
Paleros, mainland: Used to go to Tomorrow, owner very friendly.
Kastos, Kastos: Belos on the waterfront for breakfast. Evening meal go up the hill to Chef John's, it's worth it. My favourite restaurant in the Ionian, good food, good view, cracking owners.
It's only a personal view, but if anyone goes out there I hope it's useful.
