I am not so much offended as bemused by the accusation. I can only re-iterate that this sort of thing can rather alienate those on the fringes of the forum who are obviously not part of the clique.

Hm. Well for what it's worth i think vincent is perfickly genuine. Altho, to correct AndrewB, is it not normal practice to prod again when the thread slows down?

Anyway, welcome along vincent. Metabarca is a bity of a scoundrel, with italian connexions too,hence his mischievous posting about an earlier subject with which many were familair, albeit not you, and the stirring worked a bit too well.

Incidentally, I wd say that calling it a clique would mean that we are all horrid sophisticates. Whereas in fact, i am fairly sure that most people here wear crap clothes and as for sophisitcated - i come from Bradford! Admittedly tho, i have actually been to Leeds on several occassions.

Coming from Bradford is surely something to be proud of and seems to have done you no harm. Knowing when to leave Bradford maybe another matter...

Time to come clean to avoid any grief and potentially alienate new users. Yes, the original post was a bit of a wind-up done in the spirit of a pub get-together and to be taken in a light vein (the first response, "git! :-) " being perfect! However, I was also genuinely curious as to how the story ended; being beyond the fair portals of Dover makes it hard to keep up with news from home sometimes. I followed the whole story from the outset, when I felt rather sorry for the family (knowing nothing about the legal aspects of the case) but became rather irritated at how Mr S attempted to manipulate the facts (and other forumites' good intentions). Naturally, someone who hand't followed it from the outset might be a tad shocked be the responses. Sorry.
Anyway, I feel rather like an errant schoolboy just back from the headmaster's study, cheeks smarting from the hurt, but with a smirk of anticipation at the thought of now being to join my peers as an equal: my first kimerisation! What joy! Now I can look Jimi straight in the holding tank and Claymore in his cauliflowers. Do we get a special burgee? Perhaps the scuttlebut burgee defaced? Yours humbly, etc

Perhaps it only seems that way 'cause others can't be bothered chatting too? There is nothing at all the 'in crowd' does that stops others starting and contributing to their own threads.

If you don't like cauliflowers, scotanglais, holding tanks, pot noodles, etc, etc why not start something that you (and others) are interested in?

I would say “inaccessible” is a more appropriate word unless, that is, you are one of the in-crowd who can read the Scottish postings.

Now if Kim mandated that only the Queen's English be allowed here, it would filter out the haggis talk.

(In reality I use Bill Gates English, for example MS Word just suggested “_be_ allowed here”.)

yeah, i agree. You most certainly do not have to be in with the flow or clique whatever. But you do have to "post" rather than "not post". You arre definitely not part of the proceedings if you don't post stuff.
