Sorry if this has been done to death but..
We want to sail to le Havre and clear customs there (fill in the PDF form, email to PAF , probably visit them to get passports stamped). Then we'd like to sail to St Vaast (much smaller port) & return to UK from there.
So how to we get an exit passport stamp from a minor port. Phoned St Vaast but struggled with my poor French....

You're going the wrong way up the French coast. Start at Cherbourg and work east.

It depends how many harbours you want to visit. You could indeed go to St Vaast first and go into each one with a rising tide, equally with the harbours on to Dieppe, but we tended to take in some each way. The tides are not particularly strong in the bay, so the height of the tide is the chief determinant. Iles St Marcouf are a handy place to waste time if you are too early for St Vaast.

You can't - you have to leave via an official Port of Entry to get the exit stamp.

Hopefully that will change with the role out of the entry and exit terminals later in the year.

When do the supermarket style check in terminals arrive? Is this a sort of self scan device to be installed in the captainiere at say St V /?

Latest rumour was September at the earliest - they may also only be in Ports of Entry or major marinas (like Germany), we'll have to wait and see.

Bigger question is of course, where will the UK terminals be based when they're installed next year.
