Hello,
Northwood weather fax charts used to be available at the link

http://www.cincfleetwoc.com/HF-Fax/North_Atlantic/matrix.html

which is now unavailable (as well as the root directory).
I found that the site has now become
http://www.jomoc.net/
which has the two links to Colour and B/W charts (same as the former cincfleetwoc site), but it now requires an username and password. "Civilian" customers are redirected to the Met Office web site.
Charts are being broadcast via HF so hardly "secret" data, is there any internet site where they are available?

I am specifically interested in those ones broadcast via HF Fax, which are *not* the same as the UK weather charts available in the Met Office, Weathercharts, Wetterzentrale etc web sites, the fax ones are simpler and show less details (see attachment for example)

thanks :)

Your attachment doesn't work for me but have you looked here: http://www.weathercharts.org/ukmomslp.htm

Thanks Buck, but those are the normal "full details" charts; what I was trying to do is indeed compare the two types (regular vs fax-transmitted) and see what type of detail is left out.

Sorry the link does not work, I used photobucket to upload images but now it has suddenly become a paying site, I ll see if I can find another hosting site

I have the charts on my web site site - but they're just links to particular charts on wetterzentrale.de

Edit - I couldn't see your link so wasn't sure what you were looking for - these seem to be the same as Buck's though, sorry. They are, however, pretty much the same as anything I've downloaded over HF.

Slightly off-thread..... A year or two ago I read somewhere here that the MoD were pulling the plug (literally I expect) on this very useful facility. From what is being said here they are maybe still being broadcast (although one post gives an example from a couple of years ago) I can get the German ones but not a dickybird from Northwood.

Before anyone asks, I use an M801E plus Laptop with JVComm to decode the broadcast and have been using the charts for years until last year.

Thanks to anyone who can answer this ......
