In light of the eighty responses received regarding mooring etiqette, I am a little nervous about asking another question, but here goes. I have recently acted on the valuable information given in this forum and have refurbished my teak and holly floor and it looks as good as new.

The problem is of course is that now I have put it back, the internal partitioning, walls and doors now look shabby. I do not know what the original treatment was to a '89 Moody 31 but they are not shiny or semi matt (like the floor) and I would appreciate knowing what was used in the first place and whether I can bring these surfaces back.

P.S. I have no children of my own and do not have a strong opinion either way regarding taking them sailing. However . I would appreciate it if they could be left out of any answers this time so I can get to the heart of the query more quickly.(see Mooring etiquette for more info !)

I have a Moody 336, and like you would like to refurb the interior wood. So will be following your replies eagerly to!!

However I would be most interested in finding out what you did to the flooring, is it what I believe is called teak and holly? What finish and surface prep. did you use???

My original enquiry regarding the flooring was posted on 18th April, 2002 (about page 13) and I went with the advice given.
I used Blakes single pack Satin Varnish and did five coats, after rubbing down the original finish and between coats. The advice about being careful not to sand off too much is well given when you see the depth of the inlay ! The more coats, the better it looks.

lets hope there is a response regarding the rest.
