I have an oldish Autohelm 800 tiller whatsit and a Garmin 128 GPS which I
would like to join together so that the Autohelm can steer to a waypoint.
From the respective instruction manuals, I have established that they will
talk the same language (NMEA 0180,82,83), so all that remains is to join
them together. The Autohelm has a four-pin socket but I am not sure if this
goes straight to the GPS or if I need an add-on Autohelm interface (Radio
Navigation Interface) that is described in the instruction book. If any body
can help on this it would be appreciated.

thanks,
Jo

I was always of the opinion that the AH800 could not talk to other devices, you had to go to the AH1000 to do that.

I may be wrong of course....

I asked the same question about my AH1000.

The answer i was told is that you need the AH interface box & that has been discontinued for some years. The chances of finding one are very slim.
