Good looking boat, but she has been out of the water a long time & is obviously totally dried out after a long hot summer. It will take some care to get her to swell up without doing damage. Worst thing to do would be to caulk her too hard straight away. To be honest i cant see her going for that much. Hope im wrong!

No hard and fast rule as it depends on what the ribs are like. Generally you would want the plank to span at least 3 ribs and then 3 planks between it and the next shortest (same basic criteria for setting out butt blocks). The bow is the palce that takes most of the force from the sea and the danger with multiple short runs is plank failure as they get worked by the sea.
