We will soon be putting our yacht in the water and will be looking for an insurance company who are competitive and who will insure us for liveaboard and when abroad.
Anyone got any recomendations?

This is a question gets asked quite frequently and you could do worse than run a search on the topic. From personal experience, I'd say that the premium will depend upon where you intend to go to and when you are going do your passages. E.g. Crossing Biscay from about now on is a no-no with some, going outside of 10 degrees South or 50 degrees North attracts higher premiums, etc, etc.

I'm probably now in a minority using Pantaneius, who are not cheap but are good at paying out when things go to the wall.

Bishop Skinner the RYA insurers. Talk to Bill Southgate. Brilliant company, especially when you're in trouble! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

WE already have good insurance with Panataneus for the boat, but I'm interested in finding out whether we can get insurance for ourselves on our extended voyaging, covering repatriation should we fall ill - we can't afford the luxury of world-wide health cover!

Try Endsleigh Insurance. They do a one, or two year health deal - ostensibly for students, but take on any age. No medical, one off premium for worldwide depending on either including or excluding USA. Covers medical treatment, luggage, repatriation plus much more.

Their premiums are low as they target young 18-23 year olds. Fit, healthy.

If everyone starts applying , their premiums will rise dramatically!
