We use Traffords - google them. You actually talk to a human being on the phone and they have looked after us for the past fourteen years or so.

Vote for Craftinsure from here with evidence of looking after my interests.
I have been insured with them for a few years. Although nominally an on-line insurer they provide easy telephone contact with sensible people. In 2011 we were in collision with another yacht ( from astern and he was on autopilot) after a few months a counter-claim was launched by his insurers for £8000 for fees and damage to his inflatable. It took two years for my insurer's solicitors to make it go away. But they persisted and the outcome was a no-blame on us settlement. Despite having to pay out to the solicitors Craft-insure reinstated and backdated my no claim discount. What more could I ask. The lesson for me was however much you believe you are clearly in the right GET A WITNESS STATEMENT.

Had a quote from Dinouo but spelt right and it was double. I also notice they don't insure you for torpedoes, Islamic terrorists and striking miners amongst other things lol

I've been with Craftinsure during the ownership of three boats (two of them overlapping, unfortunately
), and when I had a claim last year following a grounding, they approved the repair estimate with no quibble. The cheque arrived soon after I informed them that the work was completed. Their premiums are competitive and you can pay monthly if you like. No connection, happy customer.

That's one heck of a well maintained old boat if that's all the surveyor could come up with! Very impressed. Assume this was a full purchase survey?
Or he/she isn't very good!
My experience of surveyors is they will find tons of not important and tedious stuff - such as anodes - and cover their backs to the extreme on the major stuff!
