We are in Tahiti and need new insurer as the previous broker died... Also, the underwriter refuses to extend as they are Spain based and the boat is UK reg.

I need to get a new insurance pronto.

Thank you as always.

Y yacht insurance have been recommended on this forum and I have my boat insured with them. As with any insurance you must read the terms and conditions and exclusions to be sure the insurance is suitable for you.

GJW. they paid out for a claim a few years ago without any question. premium went up only a tiny amount. new boat is same annual cost to insure as my first boat too even though its worth a lot more and includes the dinghy and outboard.

We used Pantaenius because they are renowned for their fast payment which we found out from friends whose yachts were damaged when Hurricane Ivan hit Grenada. The assessor was on the first flight in and payments were made in a week.

Currently with Y Yacht insurance. This may continue if they can offer cover for cat 2 coded use as I have just re-coded my vessel. I'm sure they'll be able to sort some cover otherwise it'll be time to move on.

I made a small claim about a year ago and they dealt with it very well, even to the point of kicking the contractor into shape after a sub-standard job.
