I recently (3 weeks ago) purchased a 2005 boat and had a PPI (Pre Purchase Inspection & Valuation) done for our survey. Like you I was concerned about hull damage and stress cracking so simply instructed the surveyor to pay particular attention to that. The PPI included full structural survey anyway including testing with moisture meter for osmosis etc.
