You can make a good economic case for a Morgan - if, that is, you can make an economic case for any car. But the trad Morgan doesnt do what a modern sports car should do - just try a Lotus Elise on the road and you'll see what I mean.
But then what chance do we get to drive sportingly these days?
Exactly - I don't want a modern sports car. My ideal would be a Riley Sprite like Mike Hawthorn had. Morgan is closest, same performance from 1.8 and no temptation to go mad as with a V8!
Economics is about minimising lifetime cost so you don't feel guilty about the pleasure. Not that I do because I worked hard to be able to afford it (and have full permission from SWMBO).
