Insurance check list

I know its probably been covered before but I cannot find a thread in the search. Can anyone give a list of things to look for regarding insurance policy or point me to a previous thread please? Thanks.

All sorted. Got 4 quotes just weighing up which is best for us. One company says it is covered by Financial Services Compensation Scheme.I thought marine insurance didnt come under the FSCS?

Thanks for replies. We have got a quote from y. It is a bit difficult to choose and the recommendations a big help. I managed to find old threads on search eventually and really helpful. Still not sure about the FSCS question but guess its not relevant.
