What are the pieces of equipment an insurance usually asks to be replaced-renewed on a 15-20 year old grp boats ?

I thought of standing rigging (usually 10 years) and seacocks, any others ?

thanks

Highlighted on my survey was:
1 Gas installation: locker and pipework
2 Anchor and Chain: undersize
3 Forestay fixing: to be strengthened
Plus other bits peculiar to my make of boat.

It's not so much what the insurance company say, but I expect they will want a survey and you are then tied into that .....

Judging by my survey you should add.

All hoses.
Fuel lines.
Exhaust hose.
Sterngland packing.
Gas installation.
Running rigging.
Electrical installation, unless it's really only a few years old.

I had to have my 25 year old Moody surveyed for this years insurance - Really seams to depend on the surveyor and what you know about your boat - If all the sea cocks work then fine, if all the Jubliee clips look clean and new - fine -

Standing rigging appears to be the one problem unless you can quote when it was last replaced - if not you may have to replace it but it really is a DIY job except the swages and not nearly as expensive or demanding as it appears - 1 shroud at at time.

Talk to Max at Yachtmaster insurance - he was very helpful and knowalgeable when I was looking for new insurers unlike all the others - who meant well but did not know the answers......

My experience 10 or 11 years ago, in connection with a 14 year old boat, was with Nautical Insurance Services through Giles brokers. There was nothing drastic flagged up in the survey, other than a suspect gearbox, and I was given 12 months to tidy up a list of bits and pieces. There was no requirement to replace any item simply for the sake of it (although, admittedly, the rigging was almost new).
I've stayed with them continuously since and, having experienced their handling of a fairly major claim against another party, I don't think I'll be going anywhere else.

I had to change

My cooker to include flame out devices
Gas installation
Fire extinguishers
Standing rigging
Electrical installation (some very tatty work needed replacement)
Advice on a seized sea cock under the galley sink.

As said above, very much depends upon the surveyor, the boat next to me passed with his oven, which was the same as the one I had to dump, his gas bottles also kept in the cockpit near a drain, where I have had to build a new sealed locker with a fireproof drain.
