Insurance (again)

It's come to that time of year again.
Curtis Marine are suggesting a new insurer - Tokio Marine HCC
Before I start wading through the 40 pages of T&Cs, do any of the esteemed members have experience with the policy/Tokio Marine?

I had the same from Curtis when our renewal came up. Searching online I couldn’t find much about Tokio in terms of marine insurance but in other insurance markets (health and travel - mainly US based) there were plenty of bad reviews I decided to give them a miss and pay for the alternative higher quote to stay with Curtis’s Nav and Gen policy.

Craftinsure give the best wording I’ve found for leaving your boat unattended at anchor but they did ask for a survey because the boat is 20 yrs old. Not a bad idea to do anyway and you have the boat valued as well.

I'm hopefully completing on a boat in a few weeks after being out of boating for 12 years. I looked GJW, Curtis and Craftinsure. The latter was the cheapest by some margin and I was happy with the T&C's mostly.

Same here. Premium went down this year by 10% which blew me away

Just kicking off with my first boat policy. Am using Coleman as policy is tailored specifically to the boat brand.
premium is same as GJW. Pantaneus wouldn’t offer as i’m deemed a new to boating owner (20yr break)

On purchase of my latest boat, got a quotes from both my existing insurer and two or three others to compare prices.
My existing insurer, "inherited" via SAGA who had left the market, was the most expensive by a fair margin.. Captive market ?
All the other quotes were cheaper . Craftinsure was the most competitive.
Did contact them by phone to query a couple of points, quick to answer phone and helpful.
No chance ever of me leaving my boat unattended offshore or doing 24 hours single handed.
They did not want to see a available recent survey, but stated that if anything went wrong, they would require sight of the survey and paper proof that any issues had been sorted by way of invoices etc.
Having been insured with Craftinsure on two previous boats and having had claims met with speed and efficiency, decided to insure with them again.

Currently boat less ,Nautical on previous craft.
Friendly service wider cover wider than Craftinsure and competitive.
Had a small claim and settled speedily .
Hope to get another boat in Spring ,Nautical for me.
