Also, see what prop it has on it, as it might need to be re-propped with a high thrust prop if you want the best from it and the pitch is wrong - but try it out first.
I haven’t actually bought the spare yet, was going to get a 10hp bit looking at the prices now I can pick a brand new 5hp mariner up for around £1000 so I might just do that
 
If buying new make sure you get Sailpower or High Thrust. That will give you a better prop, different gear case and a charging circuit (less important as you could pull start your 60).
 
Issue I got is the insurance companies want to know the year of the boat, I can’t seem to find the year it was built and if I guess mid 70’s most won’t insure a boat over 40 years old, if I’m gonna guess I might as well say 80’s and then they’ll insure it?
