I plan to use these in the instrument binnacle but in conjunction with an alarm. Since this one is describes as "industrial"I thought it might be robust.

I have to bring wires up from the instrument panel to the instrument binnacle uinder the headliner so I thought this would be fairly unobtrusive.

It is a bit spammy though isn't it?

Especially as there's another one selling cheap stuff on e bay a couple of posts down.......

I was asked for the links by Graham Wright (Please read his post above) Where I could, I just gave search results

I don't remember the last time I bought something in a shop. Your post just gave pointless links to eBay searches in Oz, nothing that someone couldn't do for themselves with a local site.

OK Nigel I've misinterpreted your post.

BUT if suppliers are selling to buyers in Australia it is almost certain they are also selling the same items to buyers around the world and their web address would be the same worldwide.

As theosalt pointed out these items can be bought on ebay (UK) for the same prices.

Indeed, and they can be found on eBay UK just as easily by the same searches. As Nigel said,

That said, I do think he's being a bit unnecessarily snippy by jumping down your throat over it. Given the demographic, we get "old men discovering the Internet" type posts on a fairly regular basis round here, and they're usually treated more tolerantly.

Pete

If you don't know the items exist it is a bit hard doing a search for them
.
Yesterday I had two people wanting to know the links to the "LED instruments lights" and three people wanting to know about "Polyester headliner" and where they could buy it. They didn't know about it.......... (they were pommies)

I had a bit of a chuckle when I read PRV's comment!!!

It's easy to think the Internet is a modern innovation but I think there's a fair chance the Internet was going before he was born!! (I was using the Internet 20 years ago)

I'm not sure if I'm the one being snippy here, I suspect I am; I apologise. Coupled with the eBay links post I assumed that there was something fishy going on; a carp assumption as it turns out :)

"old men discovering the Internet" type posts

Pete

At the risk of annoying prv with another "old men discovering the Internet type post" I just want to share some information with anyone who cares to read my post.

I bought all my labels for the switch panel (and there were 32 of them) but I had to buy 4 sheets of them to get the ones I wanted. But these days I make up all my own signs "LIFE JACKETS UNDER SEAT", "FIRE EXTINGUISHER" etc and labels for warning lights and the switch panel. I bought the adhesive backed vinyl from the UK and i print what I want using my Canon (MP250?) Inkjet Printer. To stop the ink running if it gets wet I was advised by the supplier to use a pressure pack to spray the signs with clear lacquer. It works fine

Rather than direct you to a particular supplier I just did a google search on "how to print inkjet adhesive labels" and got may hits.

I have made a panel decal by printing on the reverse side of clear acetate with a laser printer, but it doesn't work for black panels. When you see how such panels are printed commercially, it seems a pity this can't be done at home.

This is hardly spammy, as Coopec was asked for the links. He is building his own boat, and evidently bought these things for it, and has passed on a good tip which has much more general application. Whenever you need several of something for a project, check whether you can get the components cheaper than buying the made up article.
